How igneous rocks formed
The igneous rock can be formed either above ground or below ground. The ones that form below ground are called Intrusive rocks and the ones that form above ground are called extrusive rocks. Intrusive igneous rocks are formed when magma cools and turns solid under the earth. Extrusive igneous rocks are formed when the rocks in the mantle or crust are partially melted and they cool to form igneous rocks. Extrusive rock is formed faster than intrusive igneous rocks.
